Day 1 After our departure from our last main pick up point, we travel north with suitable stops en-route to our overnight hotel in Preston.
Day 2 After a leisurely breakfast we depart our hotel and make our way to Gretna Green Blacksmiths Shop, this historic hotspot for elopements! We will have free time for you to purchase lunch and to visit the Blacksmith Shop which offers a wide selection of Scottish and local produce before travelling onto our main hotel in Troon.
Day 3 After a leisurely breakfast, we travel to McInroy's Point in Gourock to board our ferry crossing for a short 20 minute journey across to Dunoon. Once on the peninsula, we make our way to Benmore Botanic Garden. In a magnificent mountainside setting on the Cowal Peninsula in Argyll lies Benmore, an enchanting Garden steeped in history and surrounded by dramatic scenery. The Benmore Cafe offers an excellent range of Fairtrade Coffees and Teas, traditional home-baking, snacks or meals.
Day 4 Today we board the ferry at Ardrossan and sail to Brodick on the Isle of Arran, known as the 'Scotland in Miniature'. Arran is like a condensed version of the rest of Scotland, it has mountains, lochs, rolling hills, meadows and is surrounded by a stunning coastline. Stopping at Brodick Castle, set by the sea, bedecked with gardens, surrounded by hills and overlooked by the majestic mountain of Goatfell, we can trace its history as far back as the Vikings.
After free time for lunch in Brodick, we take a scenic drive around the island, making a stop at Arran Aromatics, Scotland's largest independent manufacturer of branded toiletries, soaps and candles, all of which are made on the island using natural ingredients. We will have time to purchase any of these products in the shop before we board the ferry back to the mainland, arriving at our hotel in time for dinner.
Day 5 Today is a free day to relax or enjoy a stroll into the charming town of Troon.
Day 6 After a leisurely breakfast, we re-trace our steps back to our overnight hotel making a mystery stop to enable you to explore and purchase lunch.
